NMF.earth is an app that calculates various kinds of carbon emission and guides users to reduce them by setting goals for a ‘monthly budget’.
Activities tracking is made available in the app under categories such as transport, food, electricity, and streaming, where users’ carbon footprint is calculated and recorded. Accordingly, ‘Sustainable Guides’ are provided as tips and alternatives suggestions for users to reduce their emissions. Slightly different from other carbon emission apps that adopt an ‘offset’ logic, users in this app are encouraged to take the initiative and avoid exceeding the monthly limits that they set in advance. In addition, it’s worth noting that the app not only focuses on the sustainability ‘in reality’ but also offers tips on reducing people’s digital carbon footprint (e.g. “Netflix and chill in a sustainable way”).
