GoEco! is an app that uses gamification approaches to encourage users to adopt more sustaibable and low-impact mobility means.
The app is built upon a ‘test-run’ app called GoEco! Tracker, which monitors the mobility patterns of users for their daily commute. On this basis, this app uses eco-feedback as well as gamification approach (individual achievement and competitive game mechanics) to further mobilize users for more sustainable change.
The app encourages users to set their personal goals and change from their previous mobility patterns. It keeps track of users’ mobility choices and visualizes their impact (e.g. carbon emissions) in the daily feedback. Every week, the personal progress towards the goal as well as the comparison with other participants are shown. The app also invites users to join the mobility challenges and rewards them with virtual prizes (badges).
